IPA - Health Management Education Programmes 2010
The Institute of Public Administration is currently accepting applications for postgraduate programmes commencing in January 2010.
IPA postgraduate programmes are part-time and delivered through a blend of weekend seminars and distance education. Students can, therefore, remain in full-time employment while pursuing qualifications accredited by the National University of Ireland and positioned at levels nine and ten on the National Framework of Qualifications. They can also specialise in areas of particular relevance to them including Healthcare Management, Human Resource Management, and Public Management.
Part-time programmes (accredited by the NUI) include:
Diploma in Health Economics - 1 year programme
Postgrad Certificate in Healthcare Management - part-time for students who have M.A.
Master of Arts in Healthcare Management - 2 year programme

Caring for the Child with a Life-Limiting Condition - various programmes
In 2007 an education programme Caring for the Child with a Life-limiting Condition was developed to raise awareness and understanding of the complex and ongoing needs of children with life-limiting conditions and their families. The need for substantial education and training for all health professionals was highlighted in the report “A Palliative Care Needs Assessment for Children” (Department of Health and Children and the Irish Hospice Foundation 2005). The programme is managed and co-ordinated by the Centre of Children’s Nurse Education in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.
