IMB Guidance on Safe Use of Medical Devices 2009

"The Irish Medicines Board (IMB) has recently published a series of medical device leaflets. The leaflets will be of interest to a broad range of people and aim to inform the public of key safety issues relating to both the purchase and use of medical devices. The leaflets also provide information on what to do if a medical device does not work or causes harm to the user during use.

The six leaflets are:

· Buying medical devices for personal use
· Buying medical devices online
· Safety tips for blood glucose meters
· Safety tips for contact lens wearers
· Implantable medical devices
· Medical devices in the home
